Wa'ad

Wa’ad is born after three months of his father’s death, Wa'ad lived with his mother but he didn’t know about his father, his married aunt and his married uncle were supporting Wa'ad and his mother.
Wa'ad is 4 years old his mother died his uncle decided to take Wa'ad to live with his family but his wife didn’t welcome this idea too much, this is the way Wa’ad can stay alive only, his uncle moved Wa’ad to his home and sold Wa’ad’s home stuffs to spend its for Wa’ad when he goes to school but the wife didn’t agree with this, Wa’ad has 3 cousins two girls one boy, everyday morning his uncle leaves home to work and the wife feeds her kids first what it is remained she gives it to Wa’ad.

Wa’ad wishes to sit and has food with his cousins but the wife always tells Wa’ad “ you are dirty and lousy” therefore his cousins repeat what their mother says to Wa’ad; Wa’ad likes his cousins but he hates their mother, this situation continued ……………………………………………………
Wa’ad is six years old it is his school time but he didn’t know about this and his uncle and wife didn’t send him to school, Wa’ad started to fell lonely and nobody cares about him he decided to escape to anywhere which he stays, after three weeks of thinking Wa’ad left home at night directly to the cemetery which his mother’s grave is there he spent that night with his mother’s grave, morning he felt hungry walked to the market until he got some food to eat, he got work with man sells vegetables his name Hassan ( Hassan is 45 years old) Wa’ad helps Hassan to sell vegetables and Hassan gives him money and food, Wa’ad didn’t tell any thing about his life in stead of this he told him he has family and works to support them at end of every day Wa’ad goes to the cemetery to sleep,
One day Wa’ad met kid his name is Rajab (Rajab was in that time 8 years old he also works in vegetable market). Rajab has no family he spends in room with other kids close to market adding for work Rajab steals and cheater, this situation continued……………………………………………..
Wa’ad is 8 years old, one night people came with coffin to bury it in the cemetery, people discovered Wa’ad; Wa’ad ran away from the cemetery to the market he met Rajab and told every thing Rajab invited him to the room then both of them went to the room, when they entered Wa’ad saw 5 kids in the room, those kids steal and cheat people to live adding for this they are working, Wa’ad didn’t like this but he had no choice and no where to go, Wa’ad decided to join for these kids,
This situation continued ………… and Wa’ad became one of thieves in the city… steals to eat and live, he was caught many times by police and he released.

Children and Rain

Iraqi people consider rain biggest bless of God for them, life goes on with rain here, when rain delays or stops for long time specially the beginning of winter and spring time Iraqi kids ask God to send rain, I am going to pass out how Iraqi kids do this who live in north of Iraq and I am sure kids in south do this too but I don’t know the way they do it, also the way depends on each culture existed in Iraq.
In this situation Iraqi kids gather round to groups each group does in its neighborhood, it starts with one kid (his age 12-14 has to be boy) he is going to be leader for group; the leader prepares every thing necessary for them, leader bring bags and makes flag and pots, the color of flag depends on cultures, leader’s mother help him to prepare these things and teach him how to cook.
When every thing is prepared leader starts to go out and yell slogans (slogans; ask God and pleasing God to send rain) every kid in neighborhood joins with him to make group and they walk yelling after the leader (kids age 6-14 boys and girls), kids stop in front of each house to collect rice, vegetable oil, Burghul (Burghul is food made of wheat) salt, bread and everything helps them to cook, the people in neighborhood give them what kids want and pray for God to send rain.
When the kids collect enough stuff to make enough food for kids they walk directly to the nearest graveyard to cook and pray for God to send rain, after everything is cooked the leader puts it in small dishes and hands out for kids around him then kids dump the remained on graves to be food for homeless dogs and birds (kids believe after dogs and birds eat this food will pray to send rain).
Finally after they are done kids come back home waiting rain in home when it rains during or after their operation kids became very happy and dance.
